Membership in the Court's Bar

Local Rule 2.01 governs membership to the court's bar.

To petition for admission to the court's bar and to register to take the oath at an admission ceremony, you will need:

  1. Your Florida Bar number;

  2. List of court admissions (federal and state) and dates admitted;

  3. A Certificate in Support of an Application for General Admission to Practice from two members in good standing of the court's bar attesting that you have good moral character and are otherwise competent and eligible for general admission to practice, signed and dated within 90 days of submission of the registration form, or a certificate of good standing from either the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida or the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, dated within 90 days of submission of the registration form; and

  4. A credit card or ACH ($196).

If you reside outside the district or if you seek re-admission, you may take the oath at a telephonic admission ceremony. In-district residents seeking first time admission must attend an in-person ceremony.
