Successful Virtual Summer Series Concludes

The Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, with funding from the court’s Bench Bar Fund, just finished the 2020 Summer Series with a virtual closing event and trivia contest. For years, lawyers and judges in the Jacksonville Division have welcomed law students to Jacksonville and introduced them to federal judges, federal practitioners, and various aspects of federal practice. This year was no different, though events were moved to a virtual platform. Law students participated in eight events, watching or listening to live court proceedings and learning from judges and practitioners about the federal grand jury; the federal sentencing process; practice before United States Magistrate, Bankruptcy, District, and Circuit Judges; and business etiquette and professionalism.
