Chief Judge Timothy J. Corrigan presided over a naturalization ceremony at Riverside High School in Jacksonville on January 18, 2023. The ceremony welcomed 40 new United States citizens and brought a real life civics lesson to 1,650 high school students. Chief Judge Corrigan was joined by Judge Marcia Morales Howard and Bankruptcy Judge Jacob Brown, who also participated in the ceremony. Dr. Diana Greene, Superintendent of Duval County Public Schools, gave the keynote address.

By holding naturalization ceremonies in a school setting, the Court is able to involve students in the ceremony and bring a courtroom into the school. At this ceremony, students participated by opening court, performing the National Anthem, leading the new citizens in their first Pledge of Allegiance, and presenting each applicant for citizenship to Judge Corrigan. Approximately 450 students watched the ceremony in the school's auditorium, while the rest watched the live-stream in their classrooms.
