2020 HIGH SCHOOL ESSAY CONTEST

The lawyers and judges of the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, through the Middle District Bench Bar Fund, and the members of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association are pleased to invite students currently in grades 9 through 12 in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas Counties in the Tampa Division of the Middle District of Florida to participate in an essay contest.

PROMPT

The Nineteenth Amendment turns 100: Why is the right to vote still important?

FIRST PLACE: $2,000*
SECOND PLACE: $1,000
THIRD PLACE: $500
HONORABLE MENTION
TO FOURTH THROUGH TENTH PLACE WINNERS: $50 EACH
and a
Classroom grant for teachers of the top three winners $500.
 
*The first place winner will also be offered
the opportunity to shadow a federal judge for a day.
