May Naturalization Ceremony

In May, United States District Judge Brian Davis presided over a naturalization ceremony in the ceremonial courtroom at the Bryan Simpson United States Courthouse in Jacksonville. Forty-nine applicants for citizenship from 27 countries took the oath to become United States citizens at the ceremony.

The principal speaker, Mariana Munoz-Parsons, a naturalized citizen herself, shared with the new citizens her own path to citizenship. Now a lawyer, she is living her American dream, helping immigrants navigate the immigration process as the division chief of the Refugee Immigration Unit at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid.
