The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida is currently a site providing federal court case information on the Internet. In addition, scanned images of civil case documents may be downloaded for review. The images are available in Adobe PDF format. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader currently installed on your computer, please click here to install the program.
If you do not already have a PACER account, apply here. It takes about a week to receive a login and password from the PACER Service Center.
There is a $.10 per page charge for downloading case information on this system.
The Judiciary is always open for suggestions from our electronic public access users for improvements. If you have comments or questions, send email to the PACER Service Center at pacer@psc.uscourts.gov. Please include the name of the specific court you are referring to in your email.

Party and Case Searches:
Through the PACER system you can conduct searches by case number, party name or filing date range. Docket information is available by case number or filing date for civil cases filed after 1990 and criminal cases filed after 1994, although some earlier information is available.
Active cases include all civil and criminal cases currently pending before the court. Closed cases are those cases where an order has been entered disposing of the case.
Docket Information:
The PACER system offers quick, accurate information about current federal cases, civil and criminal. You can obtain: A listing of all parties and participants, including perhaps the judges and attorneys; A compilation of case related information such as cause of action, nature of suit and dollar demand; A chronology of dates of case events entered in the case record; Judgments or case status.

U.S. Party Case Index:
The U.S. Party/Case Index is a national index for U.S. district, bankruptcy, and appellate courts. A small subset of information from each case is transferred to the U.S. Party/Case Index host machine located in San Antonio, Texas at the PACER Service Center each night. You may conduct nationwide searches to determine whether or not a party is involved in federal litigation.
The U.S. Party/Case Index will allow you to search nationwide by name or social security number in the bankruptcy index, name or nature of suit in the civil index, defendant name in the criminal index, and party name in the appellate index. Each hit produced from your searches will give you the party name, the court where the case is filed, the case number, and the filing date. In addition, for bankruptcy searches you will receive the chapter and for civil searches you will receive the nature of suit.
